Demographic Futures Conference — Vienna, Austria

Designing Workplaces for an Ageing Europe — The Case for Intergenerational Care

Architect Marisa Toldo, founder of Porto Dome, will share her vision for how intergenerational workplace design can respond to Europe’s demographic transition.

With ageing populations, shrinking workforces, and 73% of employees carrying caregiving responsibilities, traditional workplaces are no longer sustainable. Toldo argues that integrating childcare and eldercare into the workplace is not only an architectural challenge but a policy innovation — one that strengthens families, reduces burnout, and rebuilds intergenerational solidarity.

Her talk invites decision-makers to imagine the future of work where care is embedded into the fabric of everyday life — a vision that Europe urgently needs as it navigates demographic change.

Invitation-only event for policymakers, experts, and decision-makers.
